Cyber Stores: The future of Shopping (Fashion show at Dolce Superclub)

In an event last November 30 at Dolce Superclub in Tomas Morato, Rockeeter Inc., in partnership with Mobilemo and ClicktheCity.com, launched the first fashion show of online brands dubbed as "Cyber Stores: The future of Shopping ".

Online shopping is definitely an alternative for those busy people who don't have so much time to rummage the shopping malls in search for a new wardrobe. It's like shopping with just a click rather than spending the whole day in boutiques and shopping stalls haggling for the biggest bargain.

With more and more online stores available, the choices of styles and prices are now getting wider and more diverse. So if you're just eager to browse the net, you can really find an online store that will give you everything you need depending on your style and preferences.

Different applications and websites also make on line shopping more accessible and convenient. The different brands which were showcased in that fashion show have downloadable apps for both Android and Symbian Phones. It's like shopping at the tip of your thumb!

I am honestly amazed at how Filipino netizens are beginning to recognize online shopping as the next big thing. The ladies who showed support for this fashion show were a living proof of how successful cyber shopping is. Everybody just had a great time looking at their their favorite items being worn by the prettiest ladies walking down the catwalk.

Great music, free drinks for the ladies, amazing dance moves by Next.Ep and The Manoeuvers, plus a night filled with fashionable shoes, bags, dresses and tops, it's definitely the best way to party at Dolce! Coolest and grandest stuffs from 7 different brands such as THE BOSS, Tipan Pants, BLANC, 7th Clothing, GlamourNatics, Yellow, Chick Flick Collections and Zephyr Collections were presented that night.

Cyber shoppers, friends and co-leagues of the designers and models, plus other party goers made that night a total success. The crowd cheered, giggled and had the time of their life while the models entertained them with their hippest and most chic fashion ensemble.

I was really thankful that my boss allowed us to have a holiday last Wednesday. Aside from it gave me time to catch some good sleep, I was also able to see my officemate strut the runway! And because she'll be definitely  extremely shy if she finds her name here, I will just not opt to! Lol! Anyway, Nice job dear! :)
Congratulations to the organizers, models and participating stores for such a awesome event!

2011 Manila Auto Salon

“Don’t touch me. I’m not that kind of car.”

I really couldn’t help by raise my eyebrows and say “whoah!” after reading this sign on one of the cars displayed at the 2011 Manila Auto Salon last Sunday, November 27 at SMX Convention Center.  Surely, that yellow Lamborgini Gallardo is one of the show-stoppers in that tradeshow, but her evasiveness just added allure to her beauty.

I was with my brother last Sunday at the Mall of Asia when we happened to see this on SMX. We were so excited that we immediately bought our ticket, and entered the world of beautiful, expensive, tough, and stylish cars. There were a lot of sexy girls too! That actually made me confuse if the guys who were present on that event were after the cars, or they’re just really after the gorgeous girls! Oh well, I guess guys just love them both!

The tradeshow dubbed as 2011 Manila Auto Salon with their theme “Mad about styling and Tuning” showcased 130 re-styled, modified, extremely tuned cars, trucks, and SUVs from different car customizers in the country. It was really like entering on a heaven filled with your favorite cars that you wouldn’t help but imagine yourself driving one of those, speeding your way in the city.

Car enthusiasts, collectors, manufacturers and dealers all gathered in this one magnificent event to let car owners, and even the ones who dream to have a car see the latest, grandest and smartest cars in the market today. Among the famous brands that were present was of course, Bumble Bee or the yellow Chevrolet Camaro, a white Cadillac which I dreamed to be my wedding car, the white and stunning Porsche that my brother dreamed to park on his driveway, and of course, the best sports car there is for me, the red Ferrari which reminded me of the famous Fita Commercial! Haha. :P

It was really an awesome event, and that was coming from a girl who barely knows anything about car except that it cannot and shall not float on flooded streets of Manila! Lol! Nonetheless, I love the vintage cars that were on display that night, also the BIG Trucks, and the wonderfully, artistically designed cars! It was really eye popping that you can picture it on your mind even after the leaving the tradeshow. If you were one of the lucky guys who were able to have their pictures taken with the gorgeous girls riding your dream car, I know you enjoyed Manila Auto Salon all the more!

10th Spanish Film Festival: Habitacion en Roma

Loving Strangers.. Loving Strangers..
Dang.. I've been singing that line from a song by Russian Red after hearing it played over and over again in the movie Habitacion en Roma (Room in Rome). It's one of the entries in Pelikula: Spanish Film Festival 2011 held in Greenbelt 3 from October 5-16.

Last Saturday, I dragged my friend to go with me in Greenbelt. We arrived at 8pm but Lope, the entry for 9pm screening, was already sold out! So there’s no choice! I had to watch one of the movies included in the Festival or risk ruining my day.

So instead of backing out, we settled for the 12am screening. And when I read the synopsis of the story, I couldn’t help but grin. What do you expect from a LAST full show anyway! J

Yes, maybe you had it right. Habitacion en Roma or Room in Rome is an intense movie about two women who are almost a stranger to each other and the night they spent together inside a room in Rome. It’s a wonderfully woven story behind lies, truth, lust and love.

I was surprised to see the Greenbelt Cinema still full considering it’s already as late as 12am and the film length was almost 2 hours! Nonetheless, I’d like to think that Habitacion en Roma was worth it, after all, it was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actress (Elena Anaya) and Best New Actress (Natasha Yarovenko) in Goya Awards 2011.
(Natasha Yarovenko as Natasha. Photo source here.)

(Elena Anaya as Alba. Photo source here)

Indeed the actresses’ performance was exceptional. They spent almost the whole movie naked with the camera panning over their goddess-like bodies and beautiful faces. It was a two hour film filled with erotic scenes and love making but the drama of slowly uncovering their own souls made the story really heart felt.

The night spent in discovering where the truth and lies, love and lust overlapped was wonderfully unveiled in the movie. And as the dawn came, the two women dealt with their realities, and emotional conflicts wondering if what they have for each other was as strong as what they felt the night before.

I also like the way they made the artwork inside that hotel room as an effective element of the story so it became a cool mix of art, history and relationships. The movie is also set in a picturesque veranda overlooking Rome, such an excellent setting for these strangers.

The movie succeeded in showing the struggles and stages of relationships –from being total strangers to slowly putting your walls down to let that other person inside your life. Although the movie can scandalize many conservatives with sensual scenes between two women, it was able to prove that Love is truly universal and that it can transcend even the greatest barriers such as culture and sexuality.

So days after watching the movie I’m still humming the song Loving Strangers, and I thought, I guess all kinds of love or relationship for that matter, always begin with being strangers. And the rest, as they may, is a history.  Maybe we just all need a room in Rome where we can actually discover our souls and conquer our desires. And maybe that’s all we need to fall in love, again.

Blogger Manila Celebrates its First Anniversary!

Happy First Anniversary Blogger Manila!
It's really nice to finally meet Mr. Jonel Uy, the man behind Let's Go Sago!, NomNomClub, and of course Blogger Manila. Why not! I've been a reading his blogs and even joined his search for Blogger Apprentice back then, but to no avail. So when I received an invitation for the celebration of Blogger Manila's First Anniversary, I was really thrilled and immediately replied with a big yes.

The day started with the gathering of Blogger Manila Club members and a brief discussion about Blogging 101. I really enjoyed listening to the exchange of ideas among bloggers and was grateful for the things I learned that day.

Mr. Jonel Uy, shared his knowledge about advertising in blogs and some ethics that must be applied as on line writers. He also answered some questions from newbie bloggers like me and I was really thankful about it.

At around 4pm, some other blogger friends and supporters of Blogger Manila came in to add up the fun. I really had a great time meeting different people in blogosphere and listening to their stories while enjoying our order-anything at Jollibee (at least til 5pm)!

Mr. Jonel Uy also expressed his appreciation to those who supported him in the Emerging Influential Blog 2011 where Blogger Manila made it to the Top 10. After all his success as a blogger, I really admire his humility and his desire to share his knowledge in this field through Blogger Manila Club.

The excitement built up as we begin the contest and raffle. Good thing I was able to count how many letter there is in "Blogger Manila" so fast that I was able to win the game, plus I also received a gift as a part of the raffle. Thank you very much po! :)

As someone very new in Blogging Community, I am really happy to attend this kind of event. In a world where almost everything is virtual, it is still nice to see the face behind those blogs and share a genuine laugh with them.

Kudos! Blogger Manila! More power to you! :)

Domino's Pizza Now Serving Las Piñas City!

Domino’s Pizza is now in Las Piñas City! And being a pizza lover that I am, I surely didn’t miss the chance to join Domino’s Pizza as they welcome their patrons in their grand opening ceremony last Friday, September 30 in SM Center Las Pinas.

The celebration started with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Mr. Tong Hong, President and Managing Partner of Domino’s Pizza Philippines and Las Piñas Councilor Hon. Renato P. Dumlao. It was followed by a simple blessing of the new store and their crews.

What I personally like about Domino’s Pizza is their unique taste and creativity in making the variety of their flavors. I was even curious about their Apple Crumble Desert pizza. I wonder how apple combined with their signature cream cheese and streusels would taste along my favorite pizza meal. Another thing about their pizza is that its flavor is not too strong to overwhelm your taste buds but enough for you to indulge yourself with another slice.

Residents of Las Pinas City can now have a break from their usual pizza hub and enjoy the exciting variety of Domino’s Pizza’s ExtravaganZZa, MeatZZa, Double Decker, Pepperoni Feast, Hawaiian and Domino’s Deluxe flavors. My personal favorite among their variety is the Cheese Mania but will definitely try their exclusive Potato Pizza next time!

Warrior Premiere Night Experience!

I was assigned to cover the premiere night of Warrior for OrangeMagazineTV in Podium last Monday. And although Pedring was on his way that day, he didn't stop me from having a lot of fun!

Just after I received the assignment, I immediately googled the movie Warrior to have a good background of what it is all about. I often watch guy films with my brothers and it's not hard for me to appreciate a movie about mixed martial arts, but hey! I still need someone to explain to me what's happening inside the ring!

So with my former officemate by my side, we met Mr. Arvin Dimate from SM Cinema and had a small talk with him. He was really nice and even promised me to always invite OrangeMagazine and my fellow bloggers to their events. Nice! :))

It's my first time to watch movie in The Podium and I immediately noticed how their cinema only housed 150 audience and how spacious their alleys and seats are. It was really a place for a wonderful and comfortable movie experience.

Before the start of the premiere night, Global Destiny then gave out gift certificates from Burger King to the audience who were all present despite the typhoon! Unfortunately, ticket number 0078, 006, and 0089 was called but never 0005 and 0079. haha. :)

We went home quite. For the my movie review and synopsis, please check out  visit OrangeMagazineTV and share!

Thank you SM Cinema and OrangeMagazine for the experience! :)

Pedring and the out pouring of blessings on my birthday!

It happened not only once, in fact, this year is the third time that this is happening. Just as when my birthday is approaching, the clouds release whatever it has in its vast collection of rain and pour it all down on earth to greet me Happy Birthday! Of course, when this happens there will be no party for me, no merry making, definitely no feast. I guess I'm beginning to get used to celebrating my birthday while praying for all of those people who suffered from a typhoon, Milenyo, Ondoy and now Pedring. Nonetheless, just to look at the bright side of life, let me recall all the events and happenings in this wonderful month of September.

September had been about my dreams and my desire to make them come true. I've started September by quitting my job and by deciding that if I really want to be someone, I must start to establish my dreams as early as now. It wasn't really an easy choice because apparently, I have to celebrate my birthday being broke but I find peace in knowing that this is exactly what my heart wants. Filing my resignation only made me appreciate my officemates like never before and I am so grateful in one whole year of fun I've spent with them.

My birth month won't be completed without traveling, and this time, I visited Intramuros with my travel buddy and enjoyed the adventure Inside and Outside the walls of Manila. I then enjoyed a three day trip to Naga City in Camarines Sur.

This month is also about gaining knowledge and learning the rule of the trade as I went to different workshops and seminars. I was able attend the Virtual Staff Finder Seminar and learned a lot about the opportunity in working at home, then learned about my craft in Feature Writing 101 by Writer's Block Philippines. Just last week I started a four Wednesdays of seminar about Maven Secrets with Anton Diaz and is really looking forward to learn a lot internet marketing and blogging.

Also about blogging, I was able to attend very first bloggers' event with Pinoy Bloggers and covered my first event for OrangeMagazineTV.com. I'm really having a good time learning from different bloggers and improving myself in this field. Long long waaaay to go! But this is really a good start.

September is also a month of celebrations of my friends' birthdays and a month to fulfill my duties to my Godson and Goddaughters who are all celebrating their birthdays this month! Sorry kids, Ninang is MIA for now. haha. :P

This month is also about letting myself be loved by the people around me and trusting God in His plans for my future. Although September is really a great struggle for us in the family, I know that our pains and troubles only make us bonded as a family.

So like all the typhoons that brought me so many floods and rains on my birthday, may all my upcoming years be filled with so much blessings, love and opportunities!

Cheers Everyone! :)

Inside and Outside the walls of Manila (Binondo and Intramuros Tours)

My travel buddy and I agreed to explore one place around the Metro at least once a month. So for our first stop I gave him the chance to pick our destination. And because he’s in the mood to see and have a taste of different culture, Binondo we went!

My buddy was a little too excited to go Chinese, but I guess a whole day will be too much to spend just around China Town. So to make things more exciting, I included Intramuros to make our trip a great mix of Spanish and Chinese Culture, inside and outside the walls of Manila.

We met in LRT2 Recto Station since it is more accessible for both us, he coming from Rizal and I coming from Cavite. It’s the station where LRT1 from Baclaran and LRT2 from Santolan meets. Then, we walked a little until we saw a jeepney with a Sta. Cruz sign board on it and the driver dropped us just in front of Sta. Cruz church, across the Arch of Goodwill.

 “Welcome to Ongpin!”

Since I am the one who’s a little familiar with the place but with so little gift in telling left from right, we darted from street to street, walking aimlessly in the middle of the good morning sun. Forgive me for the lack of street names in this entry, even landmarks seemed to blur when you’re just having so much fun being… lost.

Chinese businessmen and traders were already settled in our country even before Magellan set foot on our islands. After the Spaniards discovered the Philippines, they saw how wonderful Maynila was. They then decided to make it the center of their political, military and religious activities and built a wall to protect it. During that time, Chinese were kept outside the walled city or Intramuros, and was forced to settle across the Pasig River in what is now commonly known as Binondo.

Today, everything in Binondo is still so Chinese, so Chinoy. The surroundings are mostly red, as Chinese consider this color lucky. There were a lot of stores for lucky charms, gold and silver rings, and there are lots of Chinese grocery stores along the streets.

One of our aims in our trip is to eat my favorite SIOPAO. Yes, just Siopao and I’ll be more than happy! So we strained our eyes looking for different restaurants that offered Chinese foods, but definitely got no idea where to go. We ended up in David’s Tea House.

As I was looking at the menu, I wonder how those beautifully colored food would taste like, but because I’m not really adventurous when it comes to food so I went for the default - Beef Wanton Noodles, Shrimp Siomai and Siopao Asado. Save the food trip for some other time!

After a satisfying meal, we went on search again. This time, for Hopiang Ube as a pasalubong for my partner’s mom. There were a lot of Eng Bee Tin, the store famous for Hopiang Ube in Binondo but it seems out of sight that day, or was it just me? We asked around where to find Eng Bee Tin and thankfully found our way. We also saw kiamoi, shing a ling, different variety of hopia, ube siopao and what do you call that again? That thing covered in banana leaves? You asked the storekeeper right?! Oh well…
